'06 With the
ending of the Tuesday evening Youth Club, there are now NO
regular, weekly organisations bringing in full funds. The School and Under 5s (Well done Teresa!) do use the Village Hall each week, but do not pay the full rent. Four years ago there were at least 5 groups who used the Hall each week - Dancing, Playgroup (twice), Youth Club, After School Club, Under 5s etc and this gave a good regular income to cover the basic costs of running the Village Hall. Please could you take a moment to think of a group, society or organisation that might wish to use the hall. Sue is considering setting up a monthly Film Club and is looking into the costs of a licence', projection equipment, computer and screen. Several craft, preschool singing and junior drama groups have tried to start, but the numbers have been too small to make the club viable. Maybe a music, sport, craft, discussion, gardening, pensioners or junior club could be set up, please let me have any suggestions (giving details about helpers and equipment required) to Cambridge House, South Close. Please also support the Village Hall by booking to use it whenever you have a party, meeting or event. The recently refurbished kitchen has facilities to cater for medium sized groups.
